A lawsuit has been filed against Muncie Community Schools over serious injuries sustained by a Southside Middle School student. The Star Press reports the suit filed by Carl and Wendy Watson states their student was injured on April 12, 2023, when he fell off of playground equipment during an unscheduled field trip. The suit alleges the accident caused a fractured spine (and) permanent impairment to his body as a whole.
