Former Elementary School Could Becoming Housing For The Homeless

The former Harrison Elementary School on the south side could become a permanent home for some city families who are now homeless. According to the Star Press, Muncie City Council voted unanimously in favor of a zoning change for the old school building at 1300 S. Liberty St. The change would allow the school building, closed in 1971, to be redeveloped as 16 apartments intended for use by families lacking permanent shelter.
