Anderson Man Being Charged After Shooting Himself Following Traffic Stop

An Anderson man who shot himself during a confrontation with a Pendleton police officer is being charged with attempted murder. According to the Herald Bulletin, 39 year old Ross Morelock shot himself in the head on May 7 following a traffic stop in north Anderson and after exchanging gunfire with Officer Jerry Branson. Madison County Prosecutor Rodney Cummings said charges against Morelock are being filed Thursday.
