Muncie Community Schools has been given $600,000 in state and federal grants to upgrade security. Half a million dollars will go to install 482 new cameras throughout school facilities. They’re cloud-based and will allow for remote access and enhanced security. Another $100,000 ffrom the state will be used for the purchase of 28 new portable radios for staff use during regular operations and in case of emergency.
