Firefighter Dies After Helping To Battle Early Morning Fire

A firefighter in Hamilton Township collapsed and died back at the station after helping to fight an early morning blaze. 42 year old Jeffery Blackmer was cleaning gear after that fire on the 7700 block of North Delaware County Road 320-E. His fiance got concerned when he didn’t answer his cell phone and he was found unresponsive at 9:45 by colleagues. No word on a cause of death.
