No Charges Against Police Officer In Fatal Shooting

A Fort Wayne police officer who fatally shot a knife-wielding man more than three months ago won’t be charged in the incident. The Allen County prosecutor’s office ruled Thursday that the officer was justified in using deadly force against 62-year-old Charles E. Antrup in October. The prosecutor’s statement says Antrup told the officer he was going to kill someone and refused to put the knife down after several requests from the officer to do so.
