The Fishers City Council has approved a wheel tax. The city will collect $25 per registered vehicle but the tax won’t kick in until 2018. The money generated from the tax will help fund future road maintenance projects. A new road funding bill approved this year by the Indiana Legislature allows cities with a population of more than 10,000 to implement such a tax.
