Home Condemned; Animals Removed

The Madison County Sheriff’s office says a home has been condemned after more than a dozen cats were removed. Neighbors called police, saying they couldn’t live with the odor any longer. Health Department officials and sheriff’s deputies responded to the home Wednesday, located near County Road 750 West and 1000 South. Officials removed 14 cats from the home, along with three dogs. Assistance and breathing equipment from local fire departments was requested because deputies couldn’t be in the residence for longer than a couple minutes before becoming sick.
