There’s a lack of teachers in Muncie and surrounding areas. Many teaches switched districts over the summer break, some resigned, and there are fewer applicants coming in to local districts. Teachers say they’re just not paid enough. In 2012, state law began requiring teacher pay to be tied to performance evaluations.
