A Winchester funeral home director accused of stealing a wedding ring from the finger of a corpse has struck a deal with prosecutors. 65-year-old Gregory Thayer was charged last September with theft after lifting the ring and pawning it at a local shop. Thayer is tentatively scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 21.
