Ex-county sheriff’s deputy sentenced in ammo case

Six months home detention for a retired Delaware County sheriff’s deputy who copped to stealing county-owned ammunition. Arlan Johnson apologized in court prior to sentencing, which also includes three years’ probation. Johnson, 56, retired last September after 29 years on the force. It was discovered in February that Johnson had sold more than $8500 worth of ammunition between January 2012 and last August.
