Elwood Fighter Pilot Remains Coming Home

The remains of a fighter pilot from Elwood whose aircraft disappeared more than 72 years ago have been identified and will be returned to his family for burial with full military honors. Army Air Forces 1st Lt. Robert L. McIntosh will be buried in Tipton on August 13rs. In August 2015, a recovery team excavated a crash site in Italy, determined to be McIntosh’s.
