Special Prosecutor For Police Shooting Fatality Case

An out-of-county prosecutor will determine whether a Muncie police officer was justified in fatally shooting a local man. 26-year-old Storm Smith was shot to death during a struggle with a city officer on the evening of April 15, near railroad tracks west of the Muncie Bypass. The Star Press reports the prosecutor dismissed himself from the case because of ties to the subject’s family.
