In Alexandria, the council is considering raising the cost of water and sewer rates for customers. The increases will be discussed at a hearing at the council meeting on August 1st at the Emery Lee Building in Beulah Park at 6 p.m. The increase is being considered because maintenance costs have increased and the council wants to be sure they have enough to cover them.
