Man convicted in construction worker deaths sues construction company

A driver found guilty of killing two construction workers on I-69 two years ago filed a lawsuit against the construction company they worked for. The Fortville man, Jordan Stafford, was convicted this week for crashing into an arrow sign that hit and killed two workers. He is suing the construction company for negligence, saying the Rieth-Riley company obstructed his lane of travel with a large unlit directional arrow board, causing the crash. The lawsuit claims that, as a result of Rieth-Riley’s negligence, Stafford suffered injury and damages; incurred reasonable medical expenses; endured pain, suffering and mental anguish; and lost income and earning capacity. He awaits sentencing.
