A Daleville woman convicted in the jealousy-fueled, execution-style slaying of another woman had her 60-year prison sentence for murder upheld yesterday by the Indiana Court of Appeals. However, Amanda Gonzales’ conviction for conspiracy to commit murder was dropped. The court saying it constituted double jeopardy and that took 30 years off her sentence. Gonzales was found guilty of killing Katrina Miller after the victim was found to be staying with Gonzales’ boyfriend in an Indianapolis hotel. Gonzales had a man take the victim to a cornfield along the Marion-Hancock county line and kill her with a semi-automatic pistol. The body was found by passersby. Gonzales’ scheduled release date from prison is 2060. The man, Joe Myers, was sentenced to 75 years for the murder.
