Muncie’s Planned Parenthood location is closing tomorrow. The CEO Betty Cockrum made the announcement to its current patients in an email that said the reason is due to reduced patient traffic. She said the clinic saw a 7,000 person drop at all sites after emergency contraception was made available over the counter for those 18 and up. Also, they are doing tens of thousands less pap tests a year after the recommendations for annual exams were reduced. The closest Planned Parenthood is now in Fort Wayne, or patients are encouraged to go to Open Door Family Planning in Muncie.
