Muncie man loses appeal to have murder sentence reduced

A man convicted of murder and sentenced to 84 years in prison has lost his appeal to have the sentence reduced. Now 43-year-old Artie Thomas is serving time for killing a Gary man on Halloween night in 1999 after he and three others fired shots into a crowded house. He’s appealed his sentence before and has been turned down. He’s set to be released when he’s 70.
