Jail Gets 30K For Mental Health Help

The Madison County Sheriff’s Department has been awarded a $30,000 grant to help provide mental health services for inmates in the Madison County Jail. Sheriff Scott Mellinger says for about 80 percent of his inmates, there is a mental health-related component to their offense. He hopes that will be enough to provide mental health services at the jail for a year.
