More than 600,000 people are reported missing every year in the U.S., but Lauren Spierer’s disappearance remains the highest-profile unsolved case in the city of Bloomington. Today marks the fifth anniversary of her disappearance. The 20-year-old native of Edgemont, N.Y., had just completed her sophomore year when she went missing in the early-morning hours of June 3, 2011.
