Today is Memorial Day – a day set aside to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our nation. EC Indiana programs include:
- New Castle’s Memorial Day services at 9 a.m. on the Henry County Courthouse lawn, followed by a parade at 10 a.m.
- Redkey’s annual Memorial Day ceremonies will be held at 9 a.m. at Claycomb Cemetery, 10 a.m. at Redkey War Mothers’ Memorial Monument and 11 a.m. at Hillcrest Cemetery.
- Bethel Cemetery’s Memorial Day Service will be at 10 a.m. in the sanctuary of Bethel Church, directly across the road from the cemetery on W. Bethel Ave.
- The Vietnam Veterans Memorial for Delaware County will be held at 9 a.m. at Heekin Park.
- Beech Grove Cemetery’s 144th Annual Memorial Day Ceremony will start at 11 a.m.
- Elm Ridge Funeral Home and Memorial Park’s program will be at 1 p.m.
- Matthews Cemetery Memorial Day Service, 2 p.m. near the Cumberland Covered Bridge on the Mississinewa River.
- In Madison County, a Remembrance Ceremony will take place at noon today at Maplewood Cemetery, presented by Boy Scout Troop 301.
