Muncie man who sped away from traffic stop charged with attempted murder

A Muncie man who fled a traffic stop and was shot by the officer who was hanging on to the vehicle is being charged with attempted murder. William Jackson Jr. was the driver of the van involved. Court papers say his passenger, James Tabb, was the target of a heroin-dealing investigation. The cop tried to open the door when Jackson sped off and allegedly swerved to eject the officer. He suffered a broken collarbone. Jackson was shot and treated on Friday, then taken to jail.
