An Anderson man was arrested after a 17-year-old girl told an investigator at Kids Talk that the father of her baby was 20 years old when she conceived at age 15. The man, now 22 year old Joshua Bates, is charged with felony sexual misconduct with a minor. He says he believes the child may be his, though paternity hasn’t been established, and he told police he was aware the girl was underage when the two conceived.
