Yesterday, the Muncie Animal Shelter removed 10 dogs and the remains of six others from a southern Delaware County property. The dogs were undernourished, living in rainwater six inches deep, with no access to food or clean water and some were living penned in a cage full of feces. The owner was not found and the dogs all needed immediate veterinary attention. The dogs will go to new homes if the owner does not post a bond to get them back. The dead dogs were all beagles, and some were found in dog food bags.
