A Muncie man is in jail for allegedly impersonating a police officer and sexually assaulting a woman in Gaston. The man, 43-year-old John Mangus faces rape, strangulation and impersonating a public servant charges. The woman says he forced his way in to her home late last night saying he was a police officer, assaulted her and threatened to kill her and a child in the home. The man was arrested around midnight, though the details aren’t in the affidavit.
