A Muncie woman who beat her boyfriend’s daughter with a belt two years ago has been placed on probation. 39-year-old Elgenia Bennett pleaded guilty last October to bodily injury to a person under the age of 14. She could’ve spent 18 months in prison. She’s taking parenting classes and sought counseling for herself and the victim.
