House Republicans have unveiled a road funding plan calling for increases in gas and cigarette taxes, and a registration fee for electric vehicles. Ways and Means Chairman Tim Brown says roads are critical to Indiana’s logistics industry, and says the state needs a permanent funding source for up to one-and-a-half-billion dollars in annual maintenance needs.
