Republicans and Democrats in the state legislature have laid out their agendas for 2016. Democrats want to improve roads, end ISTEP and extend rights to LGBT Hoosiers. Republicans agreed that road improvement is necessary, but stopped short of condemning ISTEP, instead agreeing with Democrats on legislation that would prevent teachers from having their pay affected by ISTEP scores. They also did not list extending civil rights among their agenda.
