Madison County sheriff’s deputies were involved in police action shooting Wednesday morning. Sheriff Scott Mellinger says deputies were serving an eviction order when the individual pointed a semi-automatic weapon at officers. Gunfire was exchanged, but no one was injured. Family members of the suspect say he suffers from mental illness.
