Madison County Seeks Change In Dispatch Center Funding

Madison County is considering a new way to fund the dispatch center through the public safety income tax. The Herald Bulletin reports the budget for the dispatch center in 2024 is $3.7 million. About $600,000 remains for the year. Madison County officials are seeking approval from the local tax council to dedicate 1% of the local public safety income tax directly to funding the dispatch center.
