Facing a federal lawsuit that it failed to redraw district lines after the 2020 census, the Anderson City Council will be hiring outside legal counsel to represent it. Council Wednesday also voted to set a cap of $200,000 for the legal representation. Council attorney Rosemary Khoury said if the city council doesn’t respond to the federal lawsuit in a timely manner, council will lose by default.
