It was a weekend of wild weather. The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-1 tornado struck Madison County during the storms. NWS officials say the tornado was observed near Moonsville Pike and Gemini Drive in Moonville. The twister destroyed a barn, damaged trees and flipped a storage shed. Officials estimate peak wind speeds reached about 100 mph with the path of the tornado at about a quarter of a mile in length.
