Retired BSU Prof Handed Probation For Molesting

A retired Ball State University professor who was charged with child molesting in 2015 is now on probation for 18 months. At his sentencing hearing, 81-year-old Melvin Lee Sharpe consistently denied touching the child inappropriately. Defense attorney Kelly Bryan asked for Sharpe’s felony conviction to be reduced to a misdemeanor, but the request was denied.
