Recent DNA tests have set William E. Barnhouse free, it appears, for good. He won’t stand trial for rape and other charges filed against him in connection with a 1992 incident. He was found guilty of those crimes, but was released in March after DNA testing showed it was someone else who had attacked a victim in the case. A Circuit Court judge granted a motion from prosecutors to set aside his convictions. Barnhouse is now 60 years old.
