An Indiana lawmaker wants police to use any means necessary to stop protesters from blocking traffic. Republican Sen. Jim Tomes says protesters blocking streets can be a nuisance and such demonstrations also could prove fatal if they prevent or delay first responders. The proposal requires authorities to quickly dispatch police to break up a group of 10 or more people blocking a road. Critics say it raises constitutional questions.
