Warming Centers Opened As Frigid Air Moves In

It hasn’t been this cold in nearly a year. EC Indiana is in the grips of an arctic blast with frigid temps and brutal wind-chills. Because of the dangerous cold, Madison County established warming shelters for those in need of a place to stop in and warm up. In Anderson, they included the Salvation Army, The Christian Center and the Geater Community Center. In Chesterfield, a warming center is in place at the Millcreek Civic Center. Overnight shelters included Community Hospital Anderson and St. Vincent Mercy Hospital. In Muncie, all fire stations and City Hall were designated warming centers.
