A Jay County woman has died after suffering severe head injuries in a traffic accident late last week. 30-year-old Melissa Campofiore of rural Portland was pronounced dead at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne, where she was flown after the crash. Investigators say the accident happened when a semi ran a stop sign. Her two sons, both under the age of six, were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
