An Indianapolis man was shot and killed by an off-duty police officer in Chicago. It happened Saturday afternoon, and now his family wants answers. Police said a vehicle was stopped in front of a Chicago fire station shortly after when an off-duty firefighter notified the driver they were blocking the fire lane. Police said those inside the vehicle got out and started a verbal and physical altercation. An off-duty police officer was nearby and came on scene. At the same time, a Chicago police sergeant driving by saw a man, identified as Joshua Beal of Indianapolis, with a gun in his hand. Police said the incident began to escalate and multiple shots were fired at the man. Chicago police said the incident is under investigation.
