Madison County is in the process of purchasing the Star Bank building in downtown Anderson to solve an office space and employee parking problem. The Herald Bulletin reports that the county commissioners intend to purchase the building, the adjoining parking garage and a parking lot in the 700 block of Meridian Street. John Richwine, president of the Commissioners, says there will be no cost to the county and it helps keep Star Bank in the downtown area.
