The police and fire departments are teaming up from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday at the Alexandria Fire Department on Harrison Street, for a free safety fair. Modeled on similar events in other Madison County communities, the first-time safety fair will include equipment displays, demonstrations and free food. The safety fair, which will include many child-oriented activities, will give residents an opportunity to see what public safety workers do.
