Back on the ballot: Susan Brooks has returned to the November general election ballot as the Republican Party nominee in the 5th Congressional District. Brooks received a majority of the votes cast by precinct committeemen Saturday against Steve MacKenzie. Brooks withdrew from the race on July 15 to seek the party’s gubernatorial nomination after Gov. Mike Pence was named as Donald Trump’s running mate.
