A tribute to a Howard County deputy killed in the line of duty. A bridge was named in honor of Deputy Carl Koontz Wednesday. The ceremony was held at Markland and Park Avenue in Kokomo down the street from the sheriff’s office. Koontz was shot and killed while serving a warrant in Russiaville in March. He was just 27.
