A quick reminder about fireworks: The State Fire Marshal’s office reminds you that if your fireworks damage someone else’s property, you could face a $5,000 fine, a year in jail, and restitution may be required. Be careful with those firecrackers: More than half of reported injuries this time of year involve malfunctioning or mishandled fireworks. Last year, two Indiana residents died from their injuries; with the Hoosier State reporting the highest number of firework-related injuries since 2006.
