Convicted murderer asks judge to set aside sentence

A Muncie teenager sentenced to life without parole for killing a Ball State University student 22 years ago is asking a judge to set aside the sentence. Larry Newton was convicted of abducting, robbing and shooting Christopher Coyle. Newton’s lawyer says his plea agreement violated his constitutional rights and he has been rehabilitated. The judge took the request under advisement.
