Muncie Chief: Wouldn’t recommend a Taser “when somebody has a deadly weapon”

Facing online criticism in the shooting death of a stabbing suspect, the Muncie Police Chief Steve Stewart responded yesterday, saying the officers were justified in shooting a man coming at them with a deadly weapon who refused to stop. He said he would never recommend a cop use a Taser on a man with a deadly weapon. 31-year-old Larry Dustin Stepp shot five times after he stabbed a 15-year-old girl.
