James Howell, of southern Indiana, has pleaded not guilty to three felonies and a misdemeanor in California. He was arrested there Sunday on the way to a gay pride parade, with three rifles, large-capacity magazines, a box of chemicals mixed with gasoline, a taser, a black hood and a security badge. Howell could face nine years in prison if he is convicted in California.
