Man lying in road nearly mistaken for trash pile

A man driving in Winchester swerved to avoid a large pile of trash on Randolph County Road 250 north yesterday and landed in a ditch, only to find the trash was a drunken man lying in the middle of the road. 24-year-old Anthony Moog of Winchester had a blood alcohol level of .39 percent, nearly five times the legal limit for intoxication. He’s charged with public intoxication.
