The Indiana Court of Appeals has upheld the 36-year prison sentence of an Anderson man convicted in a series of burglaries. 46-year-old Daniel J. Kriete had appealed his sentence, saying that the counts of burglary and theft should have not been tried together but as separate cases. The appellate court ruled that the jury was able to distinguish the evidence as it related to each charge. Kriete’s scheduled release from prison is in 2041.
