There’s Gas In Gas City

A “catastrophic failure” of an underground pipe caused gas to seep into Gas City’s sewer line Monday. Tim Leach with the city’s sewage department says that one of the pipes at the Sunoco gas station burst, causing gas to seep into the ground. The gas found its way into the sewer line and from there it got into the sewage plant. Crews have been monitoring for gas fumes.
