A former juvenile jail on Riggin Road will soon be the new Muncie Animal Shelter. The city is paying a contractor about $290,000 to remodel the building. The new facility will double the capacity for cats and add about 25 percent more room for dogs. The shelter will also be looking to the community for donations to help pay for office furniture and new cages. Contact the Animal Shelter if you want to help.
